Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) Examination 2026 : Short Details

Eligibility Criteria
Primary Level Class 1-5Candidate must have passed the 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) examination with a minimum of 50% marks and must be either pursuing the final year of, or have passed, a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
OR, Candidate must have passed the 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) examination with a minimum of 45% marks and must be either pursuing the final year of, or have passed, a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
OR, Candidate must have passed the 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) examination with a minimum of 50% marks and must be either pursuing the final year of, or have passed, a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) program.
OR, Candidate must have passed the 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) examination with a minimum of 50% marks and must be either pursuing the final year of, or have passed, a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR, Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and must be either pursuing the final year of, or have passed, a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).

Junior Level Class 6-8Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and either have passed or be currently studying in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
OR, Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks, and either have passed or be currently studying in the final year of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed./L.T./Shiksha Shastri – Regular) program.
OR, Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks, and either have passed or be currently studying in the final year of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed./L.T./Shiksha Shastri – Regular) program. This qualification shall be valid in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time.
OR, Must have passed 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks, and either have passed or be currently studying in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) program.
OR, Must have passed 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks, and either have passed or be currently studying in the final year of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. course.
OR, Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks, and either have passed or be currently studying in the final year of a B.Ed. (Special Education) program.
OR, Must hold a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% marks, and have either completed or be currently studying in the final year of a 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. course.
